For more than 80 years, our organization has held annual conferences and mailed a newsletter to a national audience. Our media has now grown to include films, videos, a podcast, a bi-annual journal and we host several conferences each year.

    The Agraria Journal is a magazine that includes stories about Agraria’s work and topics related to regenerative practices, climate mitigation, ecological restoration, as well as showcasing the impact of our many programs and partners.

    Our podcast, Grounded Hope, features stories and storytellers about the past, present, and future of Black farming and efforts around food justice, community healing, and collective empowerment, in the Dayton area and beyond.

  • Conferences

    Our organization has held an annual conference nearly every year since 1940. In recent years, we have produced conferences that are primarily focused on topics related to the regeneration of soil and the food system on all levels.

    In recent years we have held two annual conferences: on Pathways to Regeneration and Black Farming.

    We have completed two longer documentary films, the award-winning The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil (2007) on Cuba’s response to the oil-supply crisis after the fall of the Soviet Union, and Passive House Revolution (2013) about cutting-edge, energy-efficient building techniques.

Our Media Mission

Our original media and storytelling promote:

  • Awareness and understanding of the historical roots of our present crises; 

  • Practical strategies for cultivating community and building regenerative systems (local food, community medicine, restored ecosystems, etc.); 

  • Inspiring stories of changemakers at the forefront of these movements; and

  • Visionary ideas to evolve our relationship with our world.
