Jacoby Creek Partnership

Agraria is one of several partners in the Jacoby Partnership Project, an initiative launched in 2018 by the Tecumseh Land Trust (TLT).

The five-year project was funded by a $1.5 million federal grant to TLT through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program. The goal was to improve soil and water quality and encourage conservation practices in two subwatersheds of the Little Miami River, which include both Jacoby and Yellow Springs creeks. State, federal, and local partners in the Partnership project committed expertise and funds for stream and habitat restoration, soil improvement, best practices for water quality, and diversification of farming practices, including conversion to organic.

Landowners and farmers in the 26,000-acre Jacoby Partnership area were eligible for consultation on best practices, as well as funding to implement these practices and protect their land with permanent conservation easements. Agraria partnered with TLT on annual Growing Green conferences as part of the project and also protected 80 acres of riparian corridor and farmland with a permanent conservation easement.
