Seed Saving Workshop

Join us at Agraria to learn about the lost art of seed-saving!

Over the last one hundred years, 97% of the our seed diversity has been lost. With Bayer’s recent purchase of Monsanto, three agrichemical companies now control 78% of the world’s seed. Genetic diversity is critical for resilience in a changing climate. Seed libraries, seed-shares and seed-saving can be important tools in regenerating seed diversity and resilience. Come learn about seed-resilience and become a seed steward!

In this workshop, we will explore seed selection, techniques for preventing cross-pollination, germination testing, wet and dry processing, considerations for setting up a seed library, directions for making seed screens, seed-starting and more.
