Location: Wilmington Stroop Library Meeting Room, 3980 Wilmington Pike.
The workshop is designed to launch a new Citizens’ Climate Lobby chapter in Dayton, although anyone interested in taking action for a livable climate is welcome.
The Climate Advocate Training:
- Describes the mission, methodology, values, and legislative proposal of Citizens’ Climate Lobby.
- Includes lecture, discussion, and group activities.
- Focuses on building positive relationships as a key to making political change.
- Is free, although they ask anyone interested to register in advance so we can plan for enough supplies and snacks. Register by contacting them at 937-631-3058 or sschlather@bcglobal.net.
For those not familiar with Citizens’ Climate Lobby, they’re a grass-roots organization that works to build political will to enact a carbon fee and dividend. They have six active chapters in Ohio (Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Delaware, Springfield, and Toledo) and 340 worldwide. CCL chapters write letters and op-eds, do outreach, and build positive relationships with congressional offices on behalf of action for a livable climate. Learn more at citizensclimatelobby.org.
